About Clubtas:

Clubstas is the recognized body of the club industry in Tasmania and represents club interest on matters such as liquor licensing, gaming and industrial relations.
It is true today that Tasmania has some of the most relaxed club entry laws of any state in Australia due mainly to the lobbying of clubstas.

Clubstas commenced operating in 1919, with the meeting minutes at that time confirming there were ten paid up members.
These original clubs were The Ulverstone Club, Launceston Club, Devonport Club, Civic Club, Athaneum Club, Tasmanian Club, Royal Yacht Club, Naval & Military Club, The Northern Club and The University Club.

By 1949 the number of financial club members was 28, and by 1967 had grown to 85. There are presently 110 club financial members.

ClubsAustralia Workplace Relations Handbook

In early 2011, the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) in conjunction with Clubs Australia commenced a national education campaign on changes to the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2010.

The campaign has been funded by the Australian Government through the Fair Work Ombudsman’s Shared Industry Assistance Projects (SIAP) Grant Program, which aims to better inform employers (particularly small to medium businesses) about changes to modern awards applicable to their industry sector. Following a competitive selection process, Clubs Australia was one of 15 successful organisations selected to deliver the education campaign in conjunction with the FWO.

With support from the FWO’s SIAP grant program, ClubsAustralia presents the ClubsAustralia Workplace Relations Handbook.
